The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has played a central role in implementing the mission through various schemes, empowering more than six crore young people to build a brighter future for themselves and contribute to the country's progress. More than one crore youth receive skill training every year under the Skill India Mission, reflecting the programme's expanding reach and sustained focus on workforce development.
One of the mission's flagship initiatives, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, has trained more than one crore sixty-five lakh young people, further strengthening the country's skilled workforce. The scheme continues to provide industry-relevant training designed to enhance employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship across multiple sectors.
As India advances towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, continued investment in skill development remains a key national priority.
